How it works
There are over a billion social networking accounts all over the internet. Consolidating identities across all these sites can help build things like better address books, smarter CRM systems, improved customer support or highly personalized marketing messages.
Qwerly is the world's largest database of social media profiles. It's powerful, simple and fast. And our API integrates seamlessly with your application.
The Data
You can get data about a user by querying our API with an email address or a social identifier, like a Twitter handle, a Facebook username or a Facebook ID. The data returned usually includes:
- the person's name
- their location
- a short description, like a Twitter bio
- their social networking profiles and usernames across the web, including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and many, many more
- a score of their online influence among their peers, like Klout
We find results for about 30-50% of people we look up. Responses are delivered in JSON. You only pay for what you use and you only pay for results.
The Technology
We search for users online using a combination of our own crawls, public web directories and APIs. We consolidate identities by following the public links about people. For example, if a Twitter profile links to a person's blog and that blog links to their Foursquare page, which then links back to Twitter, we know that all these links are about the same person. We also make extensive use of a microformat called rel="me", which is used to link profiles together. Combined with our powerful heuristics and spam-detection algorithms, we have highly accurate and surprisingly deep results.
